Exhibit on Quaker Conscientious Objectors from 1861-1865

A new event has been added to the Archives Week calendar:

Exhibit on Quaker Conscientious Objectors from 1861-1865

Where: Friends Historical Collection, Guilford College, Greensboro, N.C.

When: Oct. 24 – Nov. 30, 2011

Guilford College’s Friends Historical Collection is commemorating the Civil War theme by highlighting the experiences of Quaker conscientious objectors from 1861 – 1865. A small exhibit will be placed in the Friends Historical Collection and its online resources on the subject will be expanded with additions to the “North Carolina Quakers and the Civil War” online collection. This collection began with the digitization of the John B. Crenshaw Papers in 2005 through an NC-ECHO LSTA grant and continues as a growing resource. Contact the Friends Historical Collection at archives@guilford.edu or 316-2264 for additional information.
